Bibles and Food in Covid

We are very grateful to report that all Two Four Eight team members are in good health and more productive than ever, thanks to your gracious ongoing support.

South Africa has been in various levels of lockdown since 27 March 2020. The infection curve has been flattened initially, but the peak outbreak is expected to occur during August and September.

The good news is that our hero partners have unceasingly been championing Covid-19 relief campaigns across the country.

In Galatians 2:10 we read that the apostles in Jerusalem reminded the new apostle, Paul of Tarsus, that in all his dynamic dealings, he should never forget the poor. After all, Jesus taught that what we do unto to the least, we do to unto Him.

The Plastic View informal settlement in the east of Pretoria has 9,000 inhabitants. A mega church partner operates a medical clinic there and your donations provided baby formula and sanitary products for 55 mothers who came to the clinic for help.

In Soshanguve, a township of half a million people north of Pretoria, Oupa Manganye and his team distribute thousands of meals and hundreds of Bibles – a real lifeline in an economy in recession.

Our close Disciple-Making Movement partner, Pastor Willem Lindeque and his church, have been sourcing and distributing food parcels to no less than 8 impoverished townships in and around Johannesburg. He also distributed hundreds of Bibles in various indigenous languages to go with the food parcels.

Thank you for your ongoing partnership that continues to make this relief possible in places like Zululand, Cape Town and Johannesburg where many have lost their livelihood. We have given 45 000 meals to families in need, along with 2000 Bibles.
