Kasi Network

‘Kasi’ is a term used to describe people living and working in the townships of South Africa.

In November 2021 we saw the launch of the Kasi Pioneers.

It is estimated that a quarter of South Africans live in townships, and these experienced disciple makers have already seen the beginnings of movement in their areas of influence. The Kasi Pioneers have a passion to see movement happen across South Africa.

Creating a platform for these leaders was the first step. They currently represent Port Elizabeth (Gqeberha), KwaZulu Natal, Gauteng, Piet Retief and parts of Cape Town.

They met a number of times over the course of 2022. These were times of prayer, forging deeper relationships, strategizing, training and gaining clearer insight and understandings into the rich, and often complex culture of South African townships.

“We have had great times together. We have had good experiences. It is difficult to pick the best part, but we all agreed that the Lord has chosen us to invade townships and we have sufficient backup to achieve this. There is a great mission ahead of us”. DZ Mkhwanazi

“It is a wonderful time. We are believing to meet physically every month. In our first meeting we looked at our common vision, which needs to be visible and transferable. We are developing a strategy to take this vision to our teams”. Loyiso

The Kasi Pioneer Team continues to grow. Starting with 4 Township Leaders, from various backgrounds and languages, there are now 8 emerging leaders.
