“We are delighted to join the TFE team. It has been a pleasure to draw closer to this generous, passionate and highly focused team. Maxie and myself come from an architectural background and enjoy the process of designing, making and starting new things. This includes the making of leaders, teams and faith communities.
Around 2013 we saw Jesus at work in a small Syrian community. This experience radically impacted our view of discipleship, church and Jesus’ mission. It also exposed us to a transformational Jesus movement taking place in the midst of a lost and deeply broken Muslim community. We learnt that if we want to follow Jesus, we need to stand where He stands and go where He goes. We have found Him standing on the margins.
This led to us living in the inner-city of Cape Town, and later in Hamburg, Germany, where we had the privilege of seeing many displaced families discover Jesus and simply point their friends to Him. In an attempt to help our new friends make disciples and plant faith communities in the city, we were struck with the challenges Disciple Making Movement (DMM) faces in the urban environment. This is where our paths crossed with TFE.
We are thankful for a team that is motivated by their genuine love for the leaders and teams they serve. For a team that values becoming before doing and for a team that is highly focused on seeing DMM in cities in our lifetime.
About two years ago we experienced a very special miracle with the birth of our twins, Anne and Sofia. Since their birth, we have learnt the importance of having a healthy social base if we hope to become fruitful disciple makers. This experience, and ten years of planting and leading teams in cities fuels our personal passion of helping develop healthy leaders and teams. We look forward to serving Jesus alongside you all!” – Marko
